- City, State: Findlay, OH
- Job Type: Full Time
- Posted Date: 10/10/2025
Who are you?
You are a caring and dedicated professional who has the unique respect and understanding that everyone has a unique path to recovery. You have strong working knowledge of the drug and alcohol system, along with behavioral health services, to best support program outcome initiatives. Be a key member of our growing Criminal Justice Team, by supporting clients of the Hancock County Public Defender and connecting them with essential mental health, substance use disorder, and community-based services.
Under the guidance of the Criminal Justice Program Supervisor, you will conduct screenings, coordinate referrals, and ensure clients have access to necessary resources. Collaborate closely with attorneys, support staff, and external service providers to enhance client outcomes, while also addressing systemic barriers to treatment and rehabilitation such as transportation, lack of insurance, or complex systems. You will have the unique opportunity to work with individuals who have a misdemeanor or felony record (including juveniles), while focusing on care coordination and resource navigation. Be a part of integrating social service support into legal defense strategies while maintaining neutrality in legal proceedings.
Conduct initial and ongoing screenings (non-diagnostic) to identify client needs related to mental health, substance use, and other social determinants of health. Develop individualized care plans that address client needs and goals, while also connecting them with appropriate community-based treatment providers and programs. Attention to detail is one of your strengths - continually maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, including progress notes and service outcomes. Monitor client progress and provide concise updates to attorneys and the legal team.
