Madison, Outpatient Counselor

“I loved my internship because everyone is so helpful and willing to answer lots of questions that I had. I loved that I had so many opportunities, from seeing clients one-on-one to taking part in trainings and observing sessions at various sites.”

Madison, Outpatient Counselor

Korinne, Outpatient Counselor

“My internship allowed me to connect all that I had been learning in class with real life. I was encouraged to intern in a nonprofit community clinic to get a good idea of the world I was hoping to enter. It was an eye-opening experience, but it helped solidify my passion for the field.”

Korinne, Outpatient Counselor

Jade, Forensic Counselor

“Advice I would give potential interns is to consider your ‘why.’ What is it that brought you to the field of counseling? Then, find support in an organization that will bring you closer to that reason. My internship taught me how to lead a group, create treatment goals, hone my counseling skills, and impact the community I live in.”
